"you want a good return on your investment" said a realtor at an open house in Colchester. "Dream big and go big" said someone else, a friend who seems to live by those words.
The Contemporary seems to have good enough feng shui. Here are more shots of the lead contender!
Below, a work area in garage
The downstairs guest bathroom
Staircase at front entry
below is the larger of the two basement rooms. windows look out on the lawn which is mostly mossy gravel in that area.
Below is the smaller of the two basement rooms. Lots of closet space. Windows look out to an area that is beneath the raised deck. Nice tile!
Hard to tell, but below is front entry looking up to chandelier.
Great Room at night. Glittery lights of Vernon off in the distance. They won't be visible in summer when trees fill in.
Eating area. To the very left is what I would call a wine nook. To the far left is master bedroom. Yes, right off the dining area!
The upstairs half-bath/laundry.
Below is the upstairs study.
Below is an area I'm not sure what to call yet. It's between the dining and great room.
Next, here are other houses for sale that I've driven by, and given more than one second of consideration!
Below is a Cape of some sort which I drove by. Picture it looking more grand painted red with fancy trimmings! For starters though, the windows looked pretty old and probably need replacing.
A contemporary in a nice area of Colchester.
Below is a charmer on Neptune Ave. in Moodus. The street is nondescript and down the street are a couple abandoned businesses. But what is not fun about the address itself, Neptune Ave, Moodus
Back to the main condender!
Looking down the hill, the property goes all the way to those other green lawns.
Panoramic view!
Front entry way , brick lined with timbers!
Garage work space
Below is door leading from garage, to downstairs hallway and the two downstairs rooms, guest bathroom, and entryway stairs.
The first drive-by, Colchester last summer. I don't think it's on the market now.
Last December, the morning of my holiday card photo
Ice jams on Connecticut River, after most of it melted. It was a big news story there for a while.
For Sale in Hebron. It's a Colonial style which isn't for me. Feng Shui just isn't there.
